Dry Green Gram Sabzi is my personal favourite side dish, i can eat it in a bowl on its own.
It is super healthy and very tasty. I'm sure you will love this dish once you try it.
This can be also made into a salad without adding the tempering. Just steam the green gram and add in onions, tomato, green chili and lots of coriander with a squeeze of lime.
Here's the recipe for Green Gram Side Dish.
Soak the green gram for 6/8 hours, if you need it to sprout then drain and leave for another 3/5 hours..
I cooked this sabzi without sprouting it..
Before cooking the masalas, I steam the soaked gram for 10 min adding some salt and turmeric...
It tastes great like that.
For the masala
green chili chopped
garlic/ginger grated
onions chopped
tomato chopped
Spices-
red chili-corriander pwd-mustard seeds, cumin seeds and hing...corriander leaves to garnish I also add a bit of lemon juice in the end.
Saute all the spices and the rest of the ingredients. Make sure you dont brown them...then add in the steamed gram and salt, cover with a lid for 5-7 min...add coriander leaves, grated coconut and some lemon juice.. now your done !
Serve with fulkas or a side dish along with rice...
Yum !
