Not having Avial for Onam/Vishu is not having a Complete Onam Sadya. So it is a must, never skip it.
Now for what i know, this is the actual recipe MINUS the coconut oil( i cant stand the smell)
And once again i dedicate another recipe to my mama who makes the Worlds Best Avial,i hope you like how i make it mama ! mwahhh
RULE NO 1 : CUT ALL VEGGIES THE SAME SIZE
RULE NO 2: DO NOT OVER COOK THE VEGGIES AFTER ADDING THE YOGURT MIX
lets start
best part is you get to eat all different veggies at once |
you need carrot beans pumkin drumstick yam baby brinjal raw banana |
soak the raw banana in turmeric and salt for 15 min this will remove the black sticky fiber out |
for the paste coconut yogurt green chili cumin curry leaf>grind all this (not too fine) |
what i do is, i first crush the cumin ,green chili and curry leaf ..give it 1 crush ,then add in yogurt and coconut |
see how the paste is ,still coarse |
to cook the veg, first cook the veggies that take longer time. add very less water when you cook them, also add salt ! PLZ COVER YOUR POT,SAVE ENERGY ! |
now its time to add the brinjal and pumkin, they cook fast so they go last ! |
add in your paste, gently stir. |
cover for 10 min...no overcooking this |
ta da there you go,its ready ! wish my mama was here to taste it ! |
